Listening to residents and a community for everyone
Green and safe Sevenoaks
Better roads and transport
Careful and fair financial governance
- Councillors work for you. They must be more responsive and accountable.
- Communities like Bat & Ball need a strong voice and should not be left behind: We will demand faster regeneration and that designs for the new community centre serve needs of local residents.
- Fight for residents on key local battles, eg. put pressure on Kent County Council to sort out the local school places crisis.
- Bring in regular face-to-face District Council surgeries.
- Easier access to councillors via social media, website and email.
Green and safe Sevenoaks
- Prioritise Bradbourne Lakes funding application. Help accelerate work on this key community asset.
- Support and improve other shared green spaces like Greatness Park and Pontoise sand pits.
- Deal with litter and keep our local environment pleasant.
- Tackle antisocial behaviour and crime so people feel safe.
Better roads and transport
- Roads need to be safe and adequate. Potholes are not being fixed fast enough.
- Campaign for sensible parking and traffic policies.
- Fight for reasonable rail fares and the service we deserve.
Careful and fair financial governance
- Conservatives pretend that they are the sole experts with budgets and finance, but locally that has to be questioned: it looks like the Conservative leaders of the council are heading for an overspend on the Community Investment Plan of close to one million pounds.
- Conservatives also spent over £200,000 of your taxes on multi-storey car park plans that then had to be withdrawn. But they rejected Lib Dem plans to continue Big Community Grants that help worthwhile local projects across the District.
- I have considerable senior business experience, as do the rest of our local Lib Dem team, so budgets are safe with us!
